We are on our way to the state of Assam on bumpy, dusty roads, much of which was under construction.
The road was extremely crowded as soon as we crossed the border into
Assam. It did eventually clear out some.
We drove through one small town that had lots of carved animals. We must be getting close to the national park. We drove by slowly to take a look but didn't stop to shop.
We had a short stop for bathroom and tea and a later stop at
a hot springs. There wasn’t much to
see. The hot springs were contained in a
walled reservoir but you could see water bubbling up in places.
We arrived at our tea plantation resort just after dark. It is sort of cold so we were given a heater
for the room and an extra duvet for the bed.
It looks like a lovely resort; a nice, tranquil place to relax and
unwind. Unfortunately, we are off first
thing in the morning so we won’t be able to enjoy the place.
We had a lovely meal and it turns out that Tara and the
owner of the hotel both know a number of the same people so they had a grand
time visiting.
