December 14 – Flight to Delhi

The newspaper this morning was full of news about the shutdowns.  Things are degenerating in Shillong and Guwahit although it was pretty quite today where we are.  We headed out to the airport about noon.  There were a lot of police out along the roads and we didn’t see any demonstrations.

The airport and the flight were pretty uneventful.  Thank goodness.  

This was lunch on the plane.  It was a much more Western meal than we are used to on the planes.  The brownie was pretty good.  The little quiche like pastry was very good.

We were in the hotel by about 9:00.  Tara is staying at the same hotel tonight as things aren’t sorted out at her house yet.  She will be heading to her home tomorrow, which is just around the corner from the hotel.  

We had a quick dinner of dal and rice. During dinner she told us that the US and the UK have issued a travel advisory for northeastern India.
